NOTE – ASSIGNMENTS FOR MORE THAN 20 DAYS:  Teachers of core subjects (including special education teachers) must be No Child Left Behind (NCLB) compliant.  Core subjects are: elementary-multiple subjects assignment; secondary – English, reading/language arts, math, science, civics and government, economics, arts, foreign language, history and geography.  Also, candidates for all teaching positions must possess English Learner certification.

Position:                                                Summer School Substitute Teachers

 

Requirements:                      Valid CA Teaching Credential or Substitute Permit

 

Work Dates:                         High School:         June 25 to August 2

                                                Special Ed:            June 25 to August 17

 

                                                All levels:               No school on July 4

 

Daily Salary:                        $45 for 4 hours or less/$90 for more than 4 hours

 

Deadline:                               4:00 pm, Friday, May 23

 

Application Procedure:       Anyone wishing to be placed on the summer school substitute teacher list should call Diana Vosler at 580-3225 or Teri Paugh at 580-3430.

 

Pay Periods:                          Certificated employees working summer school will be paid according to the following increments. The first pay period will cover the dates of June 22 through June 29 (payable July 31). The second pay period will cover the dates of July 1 through August 3 (payable August 31).  The third pay period will cover the dates of August 4 through September 3 (payable September 28).  A TIME CARD WILL BE REQUIRED AT THE END OF EACH PAY PERIOD IN ORDER TO BE PAID FOR SUMMER SCHOOL.

 

SVUSD 2012 Summer School programs are tentative and subject to change due to the State of California fiscal crisis.  If budget reductions being considered result in reduced summer school funding, teachers, students, and parents will be informed about the impact on SVUSD 2012 Summer School.
