POSITION/SITE:
SECRETARY, 8 hrs. per day (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), 5 days per week, 12 months

DUTIES: Under
direction of an assistant principal, coordinator, or supervisor, to perform
complex and responsible clerical and secretarial work in support of a large and
complex department or head of major school or District Office program; and to
do related work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Two
years of progressively responsible general clerical or secretarial work. Must pass District typing
test at a net corrected speed of 50 words per minute. Education equivalent to
completion of the twelfth grade.
SALARY RANGE: Range 32, Salary
$2,848.42 to $3,636.23/monthly (2011-2012 interim salary schedule, furlough
days to be deducted)
THE

to facilitate school and home communication through parent outreach on behalf
of students in specially funded programs; and to do related work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with
the cultural needs of the families desirable.

POSITION/SITE:
INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT – INTENSIVE
BEHAVIORAL INSTRUCTION (IBI), 3.7 hrs. per day, 5 days per week, 9.5 months per year, LA TIERRA EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER.
INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT – INTENSIVE
BEHAVIORAL INSTRUCTION (IBI), 3.7 hrs. per day, (9:00 a.m. to 12:40 p.m.),5 days per week, 9.5
months per year, TRABUCO MESA
ELEMENTARY.
DUTIES: Under supervision
of the principal and as directed by the Autism Specialist or other certificated
employee, to administer one-on-one Intensive Behavioral Instruction therapy to
students in a school or home setting, and to do related work as required.
DISTINGUISHING
CHARACTERISTICS: Positions assigned to this class are
distinguished by the emphasis on knowledge of methodologies found to benefit
some children with autism including, but not limited to: Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Pivotal Response
Training (PRT), Social Stories,
QUALIFICATIONS: Some experience in Intensive Behavioral
Intervention (IBI) or Discrete Trial Training (DTT) or Applied Behavior
Analysis (ABA) with preschool or school age autistic children is
desirable. Must commit
to completion of required District training. Education equivalent to the completion of the
twelfth grade, preferably supplemented by training in methodologies found to
benefit children with autism. Must pass
a District proficiency test in English usage, language arts and mathematics, or
have passed the CBEST.
SALARY RANGE: Range 25, Salary $13.843 to $17.691/hourly

Coordinator/Senior Child Care Leader, assist with the operation of a child care
program; plan, organize and conduct specific child care programs and
activities; provide supervision of the operations and give direction to Student
Child Care Leaders; direct and supervise school-age children in both long and
short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives,
developmentally appropriate practice, and program philosophy; and do related
work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: One year of work experience, preferably with child care, day camp or
related work. Education
equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. Six Early Childhood Education units from an
accredited college preferred.
SALARY RANGE: Range 87, Salary $10.012 to $13.141/hourly (2011-2012 interim salary
schedule, furlough days to be deducted)
POSITION/SITE:

NEXT PROFICIENCY EXAMS will be
Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. and Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 9:00
a.m. The proficiency exam is required for all Instructional
Assistant/Community Liaison positions. Photo
ID is required to take the proficiency exam. Those applicants, who took
this test prior to September of 2004, will be required to complete additional
sections of the test. In lieu of the
Proficiency Test you may provide proof of passing the CBEST. Additional testing for English as a Second Language
positions is conducted by appointment.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT
REQUIREMENTS: Upon
recommendation for employment, prospective employees will be required to have
fingerprint
clearance through the
Dept. of Justice and provide a current verification of a negative intradermal
T. B. test.
BENEFITS: Comprehensive
package of insurance benefits offered to regular full-time employees (assigned
6.1 hours or more), except Child Care and Preschool Teachers and their
dependents. * For PPO coverage, employee payroll deduction is required. Regular employees who are assigned 30 hours
per week will be provided with an HMO plan with an option to purchase dependent
coverage. Regular employees who are
assigned 20 to 29.9 hours per week will be eligible to purchase an HMO plan for
themselves and their dependents with some of the cost provided by the
District. Regular employees assigned 4
or more hours per day will become members of Public Employees’ Retirement
System. All Regular employees, part-time
and full-time, will become members of California School Employees Association
or pay a service fee.
* Child
Care and Preschool Teachers in the Recreation & Community Services
Department who work 6.0 hours or more per day will be offered an HMO plan with
an option to purchase dependent coverage.
PLACEMENT ON
SALARY SCHEDULE: Upon verification of prior
experience, the Director of Classified Personnel, in consultation with the
supervisor, may authorize placement of a new employee on the salary schedule,
no higher than Step “C”.
